October 9th (Sun) "FCA invites TMC for Charity Drive": The Maserati Club Eastern Chapter has been invited to participate with the Empire State Region-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Ferrari Club of America (FCA) to put together a truly unique event for this fall.
Sunday, October 9 is the charity drive & luncheon held by the Hudson Valley Chapter/Empire State Region-Ferrari Club of America departing from Poughkeepsie, NY and ending at Wilzig Racing Manor on Post Hill Road in Craryville, NY (southern Columbia county). Every FCA event is charity focused. This event will benefit Camp Sundown of the Xeroderma Pigmentosum Society which is nearby to Wilzig Racing Manor.
The drive route will begin at the Arlington High School on Rte 55 near Poughkeepsie, NY - just 1/4 mile west of intersection of the Taconic State Parkway and Rte 55. The drive is approximately 45 miles and lasts one hour through the hills and two-lane roads of Dutchess and Columbia Counties.
Once we reach the Wilzig Racing Manor (WRM) there will be a gourmet BBQ served and an opportunity to tour the WRM. This includes the museum of cars and motorcycles and an opportunity to drive paced laps on the WRM track. This is a private race track that is used exclusively by the guests of WRM.
As this event is a charity event, the registration fee is $75 per person. The number of participants is limited so don't get caught out short. Please make checks payable to: FCA/ESR and send them to:
Mark Searle
18 Hartstone Drive
Poughkeepsie, NY 12603
As with any of these events, assistance to make the work easier is always needed. For example, assistance is needed at the departure point with registrations and waiver signings. At the Wilzig Racing Manor, we will need assistance with waivers there before people go onto the track for the paced laps. If you can assist with the event, please contact Mark Searle at your earliest convenience.
In exchange for his hospitality, the owner of WRM, Alan Wilzig, has asked that the clubs assure that there is coverage in their respective magazines of the event, which we can accomplish in our Annual Maserati Club magazine - to include photos.
If you have any questions contact Mark via e-mail (HVCFerrari@aol.com) or phone (845-471-6402)
