About the Vintage
Auto HeritageFoundation
In 1996 John F. Bookout formed
the Vintage Auto Heritage Foundation in order to acquire unique, classic
automobiles for restoration, preservation, and display to the general public.
The initial collection of cars was donated to the Foundation by the founder
but the Foundation may acquire (by gift or purchase) antique cars from other
sources as well as display other significant cars on loan to the Foundation.
The primary purpose of the Foundation is to preserve the historical significance
of certain classic automobiles and to educate the general public about the
accomplishments and achievements of these marques to the automobile industry.
To further its exempt educational purpose, the Foundation exhibits its automobiles
at a museum in Houston, TX which is open by appointment to the general public in a
manner consistent with its available resources. Sources of support include
donations and admission fees. In addition, the Foundation will showcase its
collection at a variety of other charitable museums through its program of
loaning cars for display at such institutions. Finally, in collaboration with
The Maserati Club, the Foundation educates the public and informs them of
the museum's existence via the "virtual museum" established here at this Internet
site. Through an ongoing series of historical articles and photographs this
work will continue to growand be available for your viewing 24 hours a day.
