iL TRIDENTE racks 'em up!

iL TRIDENTE Scores Big at IAMA Awards!

11/18/2003:  Yes the best "secret" of the Maserati Club is out! At the International Automotive Media Awards held on Nov. 18th at Sardi's Restaurant (and hosted by the "Chowder Club") in NYC our club publications racked up 5 awards amongst stiff industry competition. And this amongst newsstand publications such as Automobile magazine and AutoWeek which have the luxury of large circulations, full-color printing, and full-time paid staffs! Congrats to club historian Willem Oosthoek and new staff writer Frank Markus for specific awards on their fine articles from the last issue. The categories, recipients, and results were as follows:

1. Magazine Writing/Road Test - Frank Markus, "A Tale of Two Coupes" (Bronze Award). Other publications winning in this class were: Auto Week (also a Bronze), Automobile, Road King, Motor Trend, My Ford, Green Car Journal, and National Motorist.

2.
Magazine Writing/History: Motorsports - Willem Oosthoek, "The Colonel's Competition Coupes" (Silver Award). Other publications winning in this class were: Automobile, Motor, Road King, Cavallino.

3. Best single issue/magazine, under 50,000 circ. - iL TRIDENTE, Seymour G. Pond, editor (Silver Award).
Other publications winning in this class were: Automobile Quarterly, Green Car Journal, Modern Tire Dealer.

4. Magazine Graphics/Single photo: Black & White - "1933 8CM at Pocono"  Seymour G. Pond, photographer (Silver award). This was the only prize awarded amongst entries in this classification.

5. Other - "The Maserati Club 2003 Calendar", Seymour G. Pond & Willem Oosthoek editors (Gold Award).
Other publications winning in this class were: Barrett-Jackson and Dan Lyons.

Thanks to our superb printer University Litho and ALL who contributed over the years to make this the world's foremost Maserati publication! A new issue AND the 2004 Calendar are on their way in December!
